Episcopal School of Baton Rouge congratulated senior Kathy Hu for being named one of two honorees in the U.S. Presidential Scholars program. The winners were selected from more than 6,000 candidates expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in 2024. In addition to being a Presidential Scholar, Kathy is also a National Merit Finalist, an AP Scholar with Distinction, and an Episcopal Webster Scholar. Kathy is actively involved with Mu Alpha Theta, Youth Legislature, and the Science Olympiad. This school year, she presented research at the National Obesity Week Conference hosted by the Obesity Society and is a Student Ambassador and Honors Thesis student. TWO SCHOOLS NAMED GREEN RIBBON SCHOOLS

Two schools were named U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools. They include Eva Legard Center for Coastal and Environmental Studies and Park Forest Middle Creative Sciences & Arts Magnet. Across the country, 41 schools, 10 districts, 3 postsecondary institutions, and 1 early learning center are being honored for their innovative efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, improve health and wellness, and offer effective sustainability education.
