Inspired by nature Toni’s paintings reflect a calm, thoughtful and often serene feeling. Gentle lines and soft transitions of color are evident in most of her watercolors. Toni reflects that much of her inspiration has come from traveling to Europe and visiting the countryside, as well as quaint villages and cities. However, as a high school student it was a visit to the Chicago Art Institute that first inspired her love of art. Favorite artists include Georgia O’Keefe, Andrew Wyeth, John Singer Sargent, George Seurat and Claude Monet. Eventually she chose nursing as a career, but it was art that she returned to when she retired.
