T wo new exhibitions at Cincinnati Museum Center continue the museum’s mission to both educate and excite families. Kid’sTown Park will open June 28 inThe Children’s Museum. This permanent addition will lead little ones ages zero to six to explore literacy through play. The interactive play introduces little ones to a wide array of words, all through play! Advancing Health , presented by Mayfield Brain & Spine, will debut in July.This upcoming interactive exhibit delves into the nine major body systems and will highlight how the body works, how to stay healthy, and how technology can help shape the future of health and care. Newport Aquarium just got a lot more whimsical—mermaids have reappeared underwater at the local attraction.The Magic of
Mermaids, which runs through June 23, allows families to interact with mermaids during enchanted experiences in Coral ReefTunnel, at Mermaid Cove, and the Shark Ray BayTheatre. Celebrate the aquarium’s 25th anniversary with a visit to see the Magic of Mermaids this summer. “Plan-Ahead- Pricing” tickets are available at newportaquarium.com. Celtic Fest is a jam-packed day full of food, drinks, music, and shopping at Renaissance Park. This year, the event will take place on June 15 from 11 a.m.- 10 p.m. Foods such as Guiness Stew with soda bread will make up the event’s menu, and of course, there will be plenty of opportunities to hear some bagpipe tunes, meet friendly Wolfhounds and Irish Setters, and see some Celtic, Irish, and Scottish dancers, too. Vendors will be selling unique wares like jewelry, shields, toys, pottery, plushies, dreamcatchers, candles, and so much more. New this year, a fun family activity, sponsored by Cincinnati Family Magazine, will have participants venturing all around
the grounds to collect celtic etchings.Those who manage to collect all of the etchings will receive a small prize! Families will love the cultural immersion at the Celtic Fest in 2024. One local mom is making moves in the
world of money! Cincinnatian Courtney Reinhold has created Little Treasurer , a fun way for little ones to learn all about finances. Currently, there are two boxes available for purchase, with another to be released this fall, and a final box in the works, also. Each educational box includes an illustrated book, interactive stickers, and teaching toys like a coin set and plush.
