P arents of teen girls! With social media influences, school, friends, sports, extracurriculars, family, and more… life can get super stressful for today’s youth. Inclusive Counseling is offering a new Self-Confidence Group for teen girls this summer.The six-week series, led by Abby Channell MSW, LSW, starts on June 21.The hour-long sessions will take place Fridays from 5-6 p.m., covering a wide array of topics from body image, self-compassion, self-talk, coping, and regulation skills. Girls in the group will have a respectful and affirming safe place to share and grow. Find out more at inclusivecounseling.net. Calling all adventurous kiddos! Young Explorers is a new program designed by TherapyWorks to get children outside this summer to play and learn.Three sessions will be offered at local parks, with the first taking place on June 13 from 10-11 a.m. atTrammel Park (11935 Tramway Drive in Sharonville). Led by an Occupational Therapist, there will be a focus on sensory play, social-emotional skill-building, balance, and coordination practice. Perfect for ages 5-10. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Medical Center is slated to expand their Eden Park location for surgery this year. Located at 2001 Gilbert Avenue, the medical facility will include three operating rooms to help meet an increased demand for pediatric surgical procedures.This location will improve access for families to undergo elective procedures that don’t require hospitalization.

A new park will be dedicated in honor of community leader and longtime educator William Joel McCray. McCray was a longtime teacher at South Avondale School, mentor to children, and supporter of the arts.The 1.5-acres park is located right across from the Cincinnati Children’s Critical Care Building on Erkenbrecher Avenue. Children’s activities, giveaways, games, a DJ, and food trucks will kick off the park dedication celebration for the Joel McCray Community Park, which will take place Saturday, June 1 from 1-3 p.m. Head to cchmc.org for more information.
