ECOC PRODUCT FOCUS

Sticklers showcasing fibre optic and FTTH cleaning systems Sticklers brand fibre optic cleaning products will demonstrate cost- saving solutions at this year’s ECOC show, with a range of cleaning tools engineered specifically for the fibre optics sector, which simplify the task for faster, more reliable networks. The Sticklers fibre optic cleaning fluid is the only non-flammable, non-hazardous cleaning fluid available in the industry today and out-performs alcohol, water-based and aerosol cleaners, enhancing network longevity, reducing faults and improving overall network performance. The Sticklers cost-eective fibre optic cleaning kits will also be featured and are customised to suit the dierent fibre applications, including Fibre-to-the-Home and Fibre-to-the-Antenna. The range incorporates Sticklers High Volume Fibre Optic Cleaning Kits, ideal for enterprise applications such as data centres, plus the company’s convenient and ergonomic CleanClicker push-to-clean tools, which contain all the equipment needed to lower the cost of cleaning thousands of SC, FC, ST, E2000, LC and MU connectors — both unmated and in-bulkhead. The new Sticklers FTTH cleaning kit has been designed to make it easy to deliver eective

cleaning for the sector, even in large, complex fibre deployments. Each Sticklers kit will contain everything required to clean thousands of connectors, including Sticklers cleaning fluid, the unique Sticklers CleanStixx cleaning sticks and Sticklers CleanWipe wipes. The entire kit is supplied in the well-known Sticklers high-visibility orange bag. This makes

storage easy at the workplace and in the field, and ensures every item is to hand as soon as it is required. Furthermore, even though the kit contains cleaning fluids, these are not hazardous and can be shipped anywhere in the world by ground, air or sea without restrictions or added cost.

Sylex presents its Shue Cross-Connect

In order to help manage today’s ever-growing and increasingly complex fibre routing demands, Sylex now oer fibre optic Shue Cross-Connect solutions. These compact and bespoke solutions provide card designers with high flexibility and customisable fibre routing architecture. These solutions are tailored to the requested fibre density and within space limitations. Sylex can provide full assistance in the design and testing phase, as well as with volume product supply.

Sumix introduces multi-fibre inspection probe The MANTA probe, from Sumix, is a handheld microscope primarily designed for testing MTP/MPO and SMA connectors. With the resolution of a benchtop microscope, MANTA provides the opportunity to check multi-fiber, SMA and single-fibre connections in the field and can be used for visual inspection of the connector end-face for scratches, defects and contamination and for pass/ fail testing by IEC standards or user- defined criteria. Given the high variety of configurations, Sylex has developed the Shue Cross-Connect solution in a space-saving, modular and scalable platform. As shown in the product examples, the platform provides design flexibility in terms of connector type (e.g.: MTP, MXCTM, PRIZM LightTurn, MT ferrule…), fibre density (from 12 up to x-hundreds of fibres routed) and minimum space requirements (modular and stackable design). Sylex’s Shue Cross-Connect features benefits such as optimised airflow and improved cooling eciency, adjustable form factor as well as reduced assembly and integration time. The solutions are factory pre-configured and come 100% tested for cross-connect mapping with guaranteed low-loss optical parameters.

The wide range of applications in supercomputing equipment includes inside- card fibre routing as well as card-to-card and shelf-to-shelf fibre routing.
