jessica and kody met in 2009 at a mountaineer football tailgate during their sophomore year at West Virginia University. It was only fitting that they would later be married at Milan Puskar Stadium. Kody proposed on July 25, 2018, on the sixth day of the couple’s Hawaiian vacation. As the sun set over Ooma Beach, Kody, a C-130 Navigator and 1st Lieutenant in the Air National Guard, asked Jessica to marry him. In a perfect moment, as he placed the ring on Jessica’s finger, a C-130 flew overhead. The ceremony took place a year later on Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium. The bride, escorted by her father, processed from end zone to end zone to “Amazing Grace.” She wore an ivory-colored fit and flare Martin Thornburg Pauline gown with an open back, intricate lace detail, and sparkle cap sleeves. She carried a bouquet of white daisies delicately surrounded by Queen Anne’s lace and baby’s breath. Jessica joined hands with Kody, dressed in a navy slim-cut tuxedo complete with C-130 cufflinks. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows before the ceremony ended with a bang—the Mountaineer fired his musket as the bride and groom kissed. The reception took place in Touchdown Terrace. After an evening of dinner and dancing to hits of the ’90s, the night ended with the bride’s bouquet toss. Although Jessica’s grandfather passed away just weeks before the wedding, he was part of their special day. He’d made bottles of wine in the couple’s favorite flavors—blueberry and apple— which were given as favors to the couple’s 125 guests. For their honeymoon, the couple visited five countries on a 12-day Mediterranean cruise before returning to their home in Fairfax, Virginia, where Kody works as a human resources consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton and Jessica is a healthcare food and nutrition general manager for Aramark.
