THE REGISTRY ER

ALICIA RENEE ZOMCIK & CLINTON GARRET COOPER SNOWSHOE | 1.18.20

pennsylvania natives alicia and garret met while working at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Alicia works as a physician assistant in orthopaedic surgery, and, in 2018, needed to consult an internal medicine physician. Garret happened to be the M.D. on call. After assisting Alicia with her patient, he began making frequent trips to the orthopaedic unit just to “check in.” Their romance blossomed, and Garret proposed on Thanksgiving Day of 2019 with help from Alicia’s two-year-old son, Parker. While the three were gathered on the couch, Garret asked Parker what he was thankful for. He said “the puppy.” Then, Garret asked Parker if he knew what he was thankful for. That’s when he pulled the ring out of his pocket and said he was thankful for Parker and Parker’s mommy. After a short engagement, the couple was married at Appalachian Kitchen in Snowshoe. Alicia’s father, Paul, and Parker escorted her down the aisle to Wagner’s “Bridal Chorus” played on violin and cello. The bride wore an ivory-colored, beaded bridal gown with matching lace shoes and a faux fur shawl. After saying their “I do’s,” the couple joined their guests for a reception catered by Appalachian Kitchen. Hors d'oeuvres—baked brie en croûte, prosciutto-wrapped fresh mozzarella, and sauteed mussels—preceded a dinner of venison meatloaf, rainbow trout, gorgonzola-crusted strip steak, and roasted chicken from Joyce Farms. The couple’s two-tiered square wedding cake had matching cupcakes, made by Stacy Yednock, the wife of Garret’s colleague and owner of Sweet Babes Cakery. The Coopers live in Morgantown and are planning their honeymoon.
