Cy Young, in his T206 “Bare Hand Showing” Pose, looks almost regal in appearance here, set against an apricot sky and vibrant green grass. warms up before a game. Some dirt rolls across the top horizontal border, with a little bit less at the bottom, with varying degrees of corner tipping and rounding seen. A spot of product residue is also present. The reverse is black, bold and beautiful- just some light smudging can be seen. The subject matter, composition and orientation have always made this a desirable target for Hall-of-Fame and candy card collectors. It’s easy to see why, with this stunning example, a textbook “buy the card, not the holder” candidate if ever there was one.

The ever-desirable Cy Young Portrait in the T206 set is offered here. There’s some creasing, most noticeable at the upper left and rounding corners while the image of Young is strong and away from the biggest crease. The Piedmont 350/Factory 25 reverse is pointed down to the left a little, with some areas of dirt showing. For the grade of SGC 1.5, it’s a pretty nice looker. 48. 1909-11 T206 Cy Young (HOF) - SGC FAIR 1.5 MINIMUM BID: $500

46. 1909-11 T206 Johnny Evers (HOF Portrait) - PSA EX 5

Johnny Evers in a portrait pose was the initial introduction to the purchaser of Sweet Caporals when the T206 launched in 1909. With a vivid green background, this example features a rosy-cheeked second baseman who clearly knew his way around a bottle of hair tonic. A Factory 30 card that’s centered to the right, corner tips are seen and the card has some soiling that’s noticeable in the borders. The reverse is nicely done, the Sweet Caporal logo riveting and red, with just some lightly foxed areas here and there.

MINIMUM BID: $500
