he wanted his people to know that when he felt he had to scold them for something that they had done that was wrong, he did it be cause he knew that God had called him to be an apostle and he had authority over them. Over and over again he warned them not to quarrel but to be at peace with each other and to love one another. It was hard sometimes for these Chris tians to be happy. Many of them had given up everything of comfort and happiness that they had in this world, when they be came Christians. Paul knew this, and for that reason he reminded them of a glorious thing that should happen to them which would wipe away all their tears and sor rows. He told them that the Lord Jesus had promised to come again and that when that time should come, all of those who had died believing in Christ should rise, and all of those believers who were still on this earth should join them and live together with Him. This is the great hope which we have, too, for we are still waiting for this happy time to come. Object Lesson B uilt U p or P uffed U p Objects: A toy balloon, a pin, and sev eral building bricks. Lesson: Did you know that some Chris tians are like toy balloons? Paul tells us about them in the 1 Corinthians 4:18: “Some are puffed up.” He had in mind those who were proud and were not will ing to obey the commandments of God. We will blow this balloon up, to show how some proud Christians look. It is very pretty, but notice what hap pens when it is punctured with this little pin. “Psssssssssssssssss!" It does not take much to puncture proud Christians and cause them to lose all their beauty. Here are some solid bricks, which remind me of other Christians. They are not very beautiful to look at separately, but if we had a sufficient number, we could build a 2 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the prom ise of life which is in Christ Jesus, 2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 3 I thank God, whom I serve from my fore fathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; 4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; 5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. 6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance, that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by - the putting on of my hands.

which many beautiful church building i people might worship God. You can’t puncture a brick with a pin. If you try, the pin will bend. There are many Christians who do not let anything spoil their beautiful Christian character. They are built up in the Lord’s strength instead of being puffed up with their own pride. God is looking for bricks and not bal loons, with which to build His church.
