James Hayton Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation James’ research focuses on how human resource management practices foster organisations’ capacity for entrepreneurship and strategic renewal. In a second stream he focuses on the influence of cultural and psychological factors on entrepreneurial behavior.

Tina Kiefer Professor of Organisational Behaviour Tina is an organisational psychologist by background and received her MSc in Psychology and her PhD from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). She previously worked at Birkbeck College, University of London, as a Visiting Scholar at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver (Canada) and as lecturer at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland).

Dawn Eubanks Associate Professor of Behavioural Science

and Entrepreneurship & Innovation Course Director for Full-time MBA

Dawn’s research interests are in the areas of leadership and innovation, with a particular interest in destructive leadership. She explores the darker side of leadership, including reactions to criticism and different types of leader errors as related to performance outcomes. Her research into innovation includes focusing on how to foster this ‘innovation’ characteristic across a range of contexts. Additionally, she has researched cognitive processes such as intuition and its relationship to creativity.

Professors of Practice Our Professors of Practice bring a wealth of knowledge gained from successful senior business and industry-specific industry experience, with the following Professors of Practice teaching across our MBA programmes:

Pietro Micheli Professor of Business Performance and Innovation Pietro joined Warwick Business School in 2012, where he has been Course Director of the Executive MBA and, since 2018, Course Director of the Distance Learning MBA programme. Over the past 20 years, Pietro has worked as a consultant, mentor and facilitator with over 60 organisations.

Dimitrios Spyridonidis Associate Professor of Leadership Course Director for Accelerator MBA, and Executive MBA (London) Dimitrios’ core research interests are Leadership and Innovation. His current focus is leadership and leadership development, and innovation and strategic change in the UK NHS and other healthcare systems (including China, Australia and US). Dimitrios is also involved in leadership research focusing on other professional services, primarily financial services in China.

Overview In the last 5-10 years, Behavioural Science research has grown immensely, with many organisations looking to implement behavioural insights into their key strategic goals. Behavioural Science can be utilised by leaders to bring a number of benefits to an organisation, such as incentivising team members and ensuring wellbeing, achieving a greater understanding of consumer behaviour, and increasing efficiency within an organisation, without needing a significant financial investment. The Executive Diploma in Strategic Leadership will help you reach the next level of leadership within volatile, rapidly changing and uncertain contexts, and face an unknown future with increased personal confidence and insight. Covering a wide range of subjects, you will build your leadership skills and knowledge in key business topics. Accredited Learning Each Postgraduate Award provides 20 credits from the University of Warwick, which you can build up to higher qualifications. If you complete three Postgraduate Awards, you will achieve a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Management. Overview In this programme, you’ll delve into the intricate landscape of decision-making, exploring a diverse range of theoretical perspectives. The course will provide a comprehensive examination of how individuals navigate their choices, with a particular focus on consumer behaviour and market participation. You’ll gain insights into how these theories of behaviour can predict how people will react to money, promotions, risks, uncertainty, long-term planning, and even just the way in which a number is described. Importantly, the programme will demonstrate how this knowledge can be applied for better personal decision- making, better design of products & services, and more effective workplaces. Day 2 Study the moral psychology behind decisions. You’ll examine a number of real-world case studies and historic examples to understand some of the cognitive and moral considerations that humans make. Day 3 Explore the foundational behavioural science knowledge on how people perceive risk, probability and time. You’ll examine the ways in which people are biased in their perceptions. Day 4 Examine incentives, preferences, and decision making in market and social interactions, including field evidence from consumer and labour markets. A guest speaker will also discuss consumer choices and behaviour.

Explain and critically evaluate core theories of subjective utility (satisfaction) and preferences. Understand how behavioural science insights and theory predicts sometimes irrational preferences of consumers and managers. Understand how behavioural research can explain larger patterns within everyday market transactions, including private good and labour markets (or workplaces).
