Behavioural Science for Organisations and Innovation
Overview Effective collaboration and positive organisational culture can have a huge impact on well-being, innovation and incentivising team members. In this programme, you’ll explore a range of perspectives on how behavioural science can be used to improve the effectiveness of organisations and how individuals work within organisations. You’ll examine the importance of wellbeing for collaboration and productivity, and the role that companies or organisations have in promoting wellbeing among their employees. You’ll also look at ways to encourage creativity and innovation within work groups, and how to actively incentivise collaboration and cooperation in modern organisations. How is the programme structured? This Postgraduate Award will run across four days of face-to-face teaching at our London base in The Shard, with a six week window to complete your assignments. You will consolidate your learning through relevant assignments that will provide useful tools to take back to your organisation. The assessment of this course is based on TWO individual assignments (100%): ■ Individual assignment: Case Study Analysis (50%) ■ Individual assignment: Reflective Essay (50%)

Day 1 Learn about the behavioural science of well-being within modern organisations and societies and cover some of the biggest empirical puzzles and paradoxes when it comes to understanding and improving wellbeing. Day 2 Understand whether human feelings adapt over time. You’ll then take these insights into modern organisations to see how to improve employee well-being as well as design consumer products and services . Day 3 Dispel the myths about creativity and creative individuals, and discuss the research on the creative process. You will also review a variety of methods for managing creativity a team. Day 4 Explore what makes humans special, and how this can help to collaborate better. You’ll also look at how we can incentivise individuals to support the goals of the wider organisation.
