In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, AI has become the cornerstone of business environments, but how do we navigate the social and ethical risks? Staying ahead demands more than just awareness; it calls for active engagement and understanding of AI’s transformative potential. This Postgraduate Award equips business and technology professionals like you, with the skills to navigate and understand the AI landscape and decode AI’s impact on industries. During this course, you’ll upskill your knowledge to foster innovation and unlock new avenues for strategic growth. Throughout the course, you’ll evaluate some of the key social and ethical risks arising from AI implementation in organisations, to support your understanding about strategies available to ensure responsible and fair AI usage. By examining real-world AI solutions implemented by organisations globally, you’ll gain valuable insights into successful AI adoption and its impact on diverse industries. How is the programme structured? This Postgraduate Award will run across four days of face-to-face teaching at our London base in The Shard, with a six week window to complete your assignments. The programme will be assessed via the following methods: ■ A reflective assignment, consisting of a 4,000-word essay

Day 1 Critically examine key concepts and explore emerging technologies in AI and discuss some of the real- world deployment and competitive issues of leading human-machine teams in the evolving business world. Day 2 Delve into underlying technologies and methodologies that empower AI, understanding their respective strengths and weaknesses. Then, discuss the risks and ethics of using AI in commercial, legal and business contexts. Day 3 Discuss data driven and also non-data driven AI. Particularly, you’ll discuss successful implementation of unconventional models of computation that enable organisations operations worldwide. Day 4 Explore data governance in the age of AI. Three industry practitioners will lead a panel discussion discussing the challenges and opportunities associated in implementing AI solutions in different business settings.

What will I learn

You will develop a solid conceptual understanding of AI and the foundations of such systems to form an informed opinion about various ways AI can be applied to enhance business operations and decision-making. You will be able to assess the opportunities and challenges associated with integrating AI technologies into the business by reflecting on AI solutions that are already in use by various organisations worldwide. You will be able to recognise and evaluate the potential social and ethical challenges arising from AI implementation in your organisation, and develop strategies to ensure responsible and fair AI usage.
