This programme will take a deep dive into the world of data. You will gain a broad understanding of business analytics and explore how to unlock value from data. You will learn the key principles of business analytics and explore how to use digital traces and large data sets to develop insightful managerial advice to stakeholders. During the course, you will be encouraged to think about where your data comes from, the guidance you can obtain from that data and how you can then action this within your organisation. You will also develop an appreciation for the ethical issues surrounding data analytics in business. Throughout the course, you’ll explore case studies to gain practical knowledge of how you can apply specific analytics concepts and reflect on how they can be applied to your organisation. How is the programme structured? This Postgraduate Award will run across four days of face-to-face teaching at our London base in The Shard, with a six week window to complete your assignments. What will I learn
You will be able to demonstrate a broad understanding of business analytics and how they can implicate business strategies. You will be able to think critically about data analytics and develop a data strategy for your organisation which identifies opportunities for how they can employ analytics for value. You will have an understanding of the ethical issues around technologies and data analytics, and how these may apply to your organisation.
Day 3 Consider how data and
information can be used to inform behaviours, trigger learning loops and promote improvement and innovation. You’ll conclude by trying to reconcile top-down and bottom-up approaches to strategy execution and performance management. Day 4 Consider business analytics applications in business practice. You’ll complete a systemic overview of applications of analytics in front-facing and operational functions, and how these can be productionised in an effective way.
