TurfMutt moved from focusing on children’s education to also include landscape messages aimed at adults when it signed on the “pawprint line” with Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) in 2015 to appear on the Emmy Award–winning television series Lucky Dog on CBS. The TurfMutt Foundation just inked a new deal to increase its engagement with the hit television show for the 2024–25 season. As part of the agreement, the TurfMutt Foundation will be even more involved with the show that stars husband-and-wife team Eric and Rashi Khanna Wiese. In each episode the Wieses rescue, rehabilitate, and train a shelter dog, then find them the perfect new forever home. The series draws nearly 1.2 million total weekly viewers, which means TurfMutt’s messages are being shared with many families. “Hearst sees the value in the Foundation and came back to us with a deal that we couldn’t pass up,” says Kiser. “We’ll be on air with Lucky Dog more than 20 times over the next season. It’s a great opportunity to shine an even bigger spotlight on the TurfMutt Foundation’s mission, and we’re excited some episodes will be shot at this year’s Equip Expo.” Mulligan the TurfMutt also is contributing to her home turf. “The Mayor of Louisville asked if we’d put in a dog facility downtown,” says Kiser.

“We’re going to transform a small urban ‘dead space’ and make it more purposeful with greenery and a rest area for pets.” Located near the Ohio Theatre Marquee in downtown Louisville, the small space is envisioned as a small urban dog park— Mulligan’s Bark Park. The makeover will be part of Lucky Dog next year. The TurfMutt Foundation has also partnered with television show Mission Unstoppable . The series, also produced by HMPG, inspires young women to
enter careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Like Lucky Dog , Mission Unstoppable is part of the “CBS Dream Team” weekend lineup. Mission Unstoppable is hosted by actress, social-media powerhouse, and dog lover Miranda Cosgrove, who is also co-executive producer. Watch TurfMutt on the current season of Lucky Dog and Mission Unstoppable by tuning into your local CBS station on weekend mornings.
