Yard Waste Drop-Off CHANHASSEN PUBLIC WORK FACILITY
Available through November Residents may drop off yard waste Monday-Friday, excluding holidays and summer hours. Summer hours will be in effect until Labor Day. Payment can be made at Public Works during business hours by cash, check or card. Residents must check in at the Public Works office and show proof of residency. Fees are $1/bag and $15/pick-up truck or small trailer load. End date TBD. Did you know? Improperly disposed yard waste can harm our local water resources by contributing to phosphorous and nitrogen loading. For more information, visit the website ChanhassenMN.gov/YardWaste
Fall 2025 Environmental Academy Curious about invasive species? Ever wonder what happens at the Environmental Center? Want to know the best way to dispose of something? Attend the Environmental Academy, an opportunity for residents to learn more about the environment around them. The Environmental Commission is working on finalizing the details for a variety of environmentally focused courses to offer this fall. The program allows residents to sign up for one or all of the six courses that are offered. Past courses have included topics like tree care, invasive species identification, recycling and facility tours, including the Carver County Environmental Center and SMSC Organics Recycling Facility. Each course is unique in either the course structure, the course instructor or both. Previous courses have been instructed by certified arborists, water treatment plant operators and Environmental Center staff. Each of these courses provides a unique opportunity to learn from an expert in the course topic. This program typically runs from August to October, with some courses having limited class sizes. Residents hoping to participate will need to sign up for courses in advance. Once this year's courses are announced, residents will be able to sign up online. Check our website at ChanhassenMN.gov/EnvironmentalAcademy for updates and more information on how to sign up for each course.
