5. Employee information and training
Employees are to attend a safety training session as part of their initial orientation and training set up by the Hazard Communication Manager prior to starting work at MOLLY MAID. This training session will provide information on the following:

The requirements of the hazard communication regulation, including the employees’ rights under the regulation.
Review the requirements of this program with your employees. Contact your State OSHA office for information on state-specific “Right-to-Know” laws. This program is included in the Safety Manual. Discuss the program with each employee and have him or her sign the acknowledgement at the end of the manual. Review where and when all cleaning products are to be used. Products recommended by the home office are: 266 (All Purpose Cleaner), 255SF (Glass Cleaner), 299 (Tub and Tile Cleaner), 276 (Air Freshener) Review proper use and handling of cleaning supplies and what to look for to determine the presence or release of hazardous substances in the work area (i.e. unusual odors, irritation of skin, burning sensation inside nose/eyes).
The location and availability of the written hazard communication program.
Any operation in their work area, including non- routine tasks, where hazardous substances or Proposition 65 carcinogens/reproductive toxins are present and exposures are likely to occur. Ecolab products recommended for use by the home office are not on the Proposition 65 list. Methods and observation techniques used to determine the presence or release of hazardous substances in the work area.
