A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 10
We are now into our second week of the term. It has been great to see so many students working hard in lessons, revising in preparation for their Year 10 exams.
The year 10 exam schedule is now up on tutor groups google classrooms. Students are advised to print this off, so that they can adequately prepare for their upcoming examinations. Some of these will take place in the sports hall, to help them to get used to taking these exams in an GCSE setting and others will be with teachers in the classrooms. If students want any help or support they should ask their teachers for advice on how to revise and prepare. During tutor time this week, we have been looking at different online revision sources that students can use such as GCSE Pod and BBC bitesize which students have hopefully found useful.
Congratulations to all students in Year 10 for accumulating lots of epraise points this year. The epraise shop is now open. Students have until Friday to spend their points!
Year 10 exams are starting next week. After this students will then be on work experience for one week. Careers interviews are also currently taking place, which every year 10 student will receive to help them to prepare for the future.
Have a lovely weekend!

BOOK OF THE MONTH
‘King of Nothing’ by Nathanael Lessore
I really really really enjoyed this book! I specifically enjoyed how realistic and actually quite intense it was towards the end. The characters are all written so well. For example I really like how you can tell Anton is not as bad as Kehinde from the start when he kind of defended Mathew when Kehinde was about to give him a hard time. The scene where Mathew and Anton are at a sleepover and they’re talking about his nan made me cry! It was just so wholesome and the boys’ unexpected friendship is such a lovely part of the book. I will definitely suggest this book to people in the future!
