Challenge
Approximately 2 million Canadians vape*, creating waste that must be safely and responsibly managed to minimize safety and environmental risks.
Quebec’s EPR regulations were amended, mandating vape producers to manage the entire product, including batteries (single-use and rechargeable) at end-of-life.
Highly Regulated Environment: federal and provincial laws, regulations, and guidelines, including Tobacco and Vaping Products Act, Vaping Products Promotion Regulations, Health Canada, Tobacco Control Act, Santé Québec and the Batteries Regulation.
Industry leaders turned to Call2Recycle to design, launch, and manage a dedicated vape recycling program.
