“Brother Saul.” Our calling is to be faithful, kind, gracious, thoughtful, gentle, and self-controlled, even as was the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked” (I John 2:6). It is not complicated to be a witness for the Lord Jesus. All we need to do is to decide that we are going to follow Him, that He is going to be our goal and model. Then, through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, we will endeavor each day, to study the Word of God and to walk in His footsteps. Our Lord said to His dis ciples at the very beginning of His earthly ministry, “Learn of me.” Each day as we learn of Him we will know more of what His divine blueprint is for our lives. Tremendous prices are paid by peo ple for various art treasures. A very wealthy man purchased, at an un believably high cost, a famous paint ing of the Lord Jesus Christ. He sought with great difficulty to find an appropriate place to hang it on the walls of his home. He tried various frames thinking this would help, but somehow the masterpiece didn’t seem to blend in, no matter what the set ting or where it was placed. So, he called in a specialist, an art connois seur, who after carefully examining the house and the unusual painting, forcefully declared, “Sir, you can’t fit this painting into your house. You’re going to have to make a home to fit it.” There is a great spiritual lesson here. The Lord Jesus Christ cannot adorn a human heart which has not been cleansed of self, sin and the world. To be able to say affirmatively, “Greater is he (the Holy Spirit) that is in me than he (Satan) that is in the world,” you will have to allow Him, as the Master Architect, to build of you a new home wherein the Sav iour may dwell. Here is how Scrip ture puts it, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ (and if Christ be in any man) he is a new creature. Old things are passed away, behold all things are become new.” 23
can he know them because they are spiritually discerned.” I also know, however, that God can crush the hard est heart of stone if it please Him. Through my simple testimony of liv ing a life before the world, it can please Him to use that testimony and to change the most rebellious heart. Who was more timid than Ananias? THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE Where is the way? This world is but a maze, Where millions wander without help or light, I am weary of the world's false ways, Show me the Way, for I would walk aright! Be still, my soul, a sweet voice speaks to thee, " I AM THE WAY, look up and follow Me." Where is the truth? I cannot find it here, All is confusion in this world below; Oh! tell me who will make it plain and clear, Show me the truth, for I the truth would know. Be still, my soul, a sweet voice speaks to thee; "I AM THE TRUTH, look up and fol low Me." Say where is life? It is not here I know, Oh! who hath power the priceless boon to give? All here is sorrow, sin and death and woe; Say where is life? for surely I would live! Be still, my soul, a sweet voice speaks to thee: " I AM THE LIFE, look up and follow Me." Who was more of a rebel than the apostle Paul? When Ananias went to visit Paul he went with fear and trem bling knowing that Paul had been a murderer, a religious zealot seeking to destroy the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet when Ananias ar rived at Damascus at the street called “Straight,” he addressed him as
