SCENES FROM A . B. C.

Trust God in the light and you'll be able to find Him in the night. * * * A sharp tongue will only be an instrument by which you will eventually cut your own throat. * * * A man need never fear losing his shirt just as long as he makes sure his sleeves are rolled up! * * * Backsliding usually begins in the knees. Some people, unfortunately, have more dollars than sense. * * * Too manychurch members havemerely beenstarched and ironed, without first being washed. * * * You may not be able to decide on where you'll die, but you can decide how you'll die and where you'll go afterwards. If you condemn people whose tongues wag, remember if there were no listeners, there would be no gossippers. In the pathway of life, speed isn't every thing. It's direction that really counts! * * * With God's help, trouble, like the hill ahead, straightens out when you advance upon it. * * * The most untamable thing in the world has its den just behind the human teeth. * * * The best way to mark your Bible is to let your Bible mark you. * * * The world is full of men who are making good livings but poor lives. * * * Vision without work is visionary; work without vision is mercenary; but vision and work together are missionary. * * * Men never climb very high over those who have been slain by their slander. * * * "Horse sense" comes from having a stable mind.
