Judges, Deadline Announced For DuPont Innovation Awards DuPont Packaging has assembled a its panel of judges who will identify the winners of the DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation. Entry is free and nominations will be accepted through February 19.Award forms are available at packagingawards.dupont.com . The 2016 judging panel includes: Ramon Agustines, Universal Robina Corp. (URC), Philippines; Serena Della Bianca, Sealed Air, Italy; Suzanne Fisher, Sam’s Club, USA; Sanjay Ghoshal, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd., India; Marianne Rosner Klimchuk, Fashion Insti- tute of Technology, USA; David Luttenberger, Mintel Group, Ltd., USA; Jeff Schuetz, Global Technology Consumer Packaging, Sonoco, USA; Colin Yates, Mars, Germany; and EduardoYugue, Pepsico, Brazil. Amcor Buys BPI China Australian packaging company Amcor Ltd. is buying BPI China, the Chinese subsidiary of British Poly- thene Industries plc, for US$13 million.BPI China has one plant in Xinhui, in southern China, with blown film and flexographic printing lines.

Sustainable Packaging Event Headed To Chicago SustPack 2016 conference, a sustainable packaging event, will be held on April 11-13 at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois, The event is organized by Smithers Pira, Packaging and Sustainable Packing Coalition.The prime objective of the meeting will be to address major sustainability problems and present new solutions. Ken Webster, Head of Innovation at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, will talk about what’s the right choice when it comes to packaging as well as circular economy. Ikea President Lars Peterson will discuss the investment and innovations necessary for the growth of a low carbon future. Leyla Acaroglu, Founder of The Un-School of Disruptive Design, will highlight the de- signing changes for the circular systems. In all, SustPack will offer more than 40 presenta- tions. SustPack has arranged six different local tours that allows attendees to see behind the scenes at Method’s LEED Platinum Certified Southside Soap Factory, McCormick Place convention center, two leading Chicago museums, the Waste Management Willow Ranch composting facility and two craft breweries.
