IVONCHYK JOINS FACULTY Mikhail Ivonchyk joined the Department of Public Administration and Policy, teaching and researching in the areas of public finance, debt management, fiscal policy, budgeting process and agenda setting. A NEW CENTER FOR HIV RESEARCH UAlbany’s new Center for Collaborative HIV Research in Practice and Policy (CCHRPP) — housed at the UAlbany School of Public Health, Rockefeller College, SUNY Downstate, and the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute — addresses the public health and social justice challenges of persons placed at risk for, or living with HIV and related diseases. PPIA PUBLIC SERVICEWEEKEND In partnership with PPIA and NASPAA, Rockefeller College hosted 29 undergraduate students from 19 universities spanning the country for a weekend dedicated to exploring opportunities in public service.

Ramon Gil-Garcia: Editorial board for the Public Administration Review. Luis Luna-Reyes: President of Digital Government Society, and co-editor of Enabling Collaborative Governance through Systems Modeling Methods: Policy Design and Implementation. Edmund Stazyk: Chair of the Northeast Conference on Public Administration (NECOPA) and joined the editorial board for the Review of Public Personnel Administration.
Strategically restructuring and uniting two of its nationally ranked academic units, UAlbany’s #2 ranked School of Criminal Justice has joined the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy. EDUCATION POWER 50 For the second straight year, Rockefeller College Dean R. Karl Rethemeyer was named to City & State’s Education Power 50 list. ROCK ALUM NAMED SUNY CHANCELLOR Jim Malatras was named the 14th chancellor of the State University of New York, leading the largest system of universities, colleges and community colleges in the United States. Malatras received his bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degrees from UAlbany’s Rockefeller College. STEWARDS OF THE MARKET Mitchel Y. Abolafia’s published a new book, Stewards of the Market: How the Federal Reserve Made Sense of the Financial Crisis .
CHRISTINE BECKMAN , named Editor-in-Chief of Administrative Sciences Quarterly ; co-authored a book on living, working and parenting in the digital age and recommended policies that are needed to better support them.
GEOFF BOEING , won the Western Regional Science Association Stough- Johansson Springer Award for Best Paper for his published piece, “Off the Grid... and Back Again? The Recent Evolution of American Street Network Planning and Design.”
WÄNDI BRUINE DE BRUIN , co-led a study about public perceptions of COVID-19 and documented how Americans are changing their behaviors amid the rise of the coronavirus
JEFF JENKINS , founded two new academic journals: Journal of Political Institutions and Political Economy and Historical Political Economy .
