NASPAA2020 Conference Booklet

A New Public Square The University of Maryland School of Public Policy commits itself to build a new public square that: • overcomes systemic racism and historic disparities in our society • engages all our citizens through serving as “democratic extension agents” • and secures a sustainable future for all. Last fall, we broke ground on our new home — a building that will provide students with a place to study, discuss big ideas and do good. It will house the School’s five research centers, 15 academic programs and more than 1,600 students. Featuring an assembly chamber created for deliberation, a design that draws inspiration from classic Greek architecture and space to host illustrious speakers from across the globe, the new building will connect the School directly to the world of policymaking.

PREPARING FUTURE LEADERS HAS NEVER BEEN MORE IMPORTANT.

Thank you to our NASPAA colleagues for carrying on our shared commitment to public service education through extraordinary times.

We’re all in this together.
