School of Public Policy Oregon State University BS in Public Policy Master of Public Policy Executive Master of Public Policy PhD in Public Policy As one of two universities nationally with Sun Grant, Sea Grant, Space Grant and Land Grant programs, Oregon State University is home to world class scientists working on many issues significant to 21st century citizens. As populations continue to become more connected and interdependent, these issues promise to affect us more broadly, more quickly, and with more impact than ever before. OSU’s interdisciplinary Programs in Public Policy are uniquely positioned to integrate groundbreaking science into emerging policies, practices, and understandings of the world that will impact and influence local, regional and international policy decisions. BS, MPP and Executive MPP programs have both resident and online options. Students can pursue concentrations in energy policy, environmental policy, international policy, law and crime policy, rural policy, and social policy. Graduate certificates are also available in energy policy and rural policy.

Expanding Our Expertise The Schar School Welcomes New Faculty

Mirae Kim, Associate Professor of Nonprofit Studies Leading a Nonprofit Organization Research Panel, Kim’s insights provide valuable information for nonprofit practitioners while producing much needed data for researchers in the nonprofit community. Former FBI Deputy Director McCabe joins the Schar School to teach courses in national security and adds further strength to the Michael V. Hayden Center for Intelligence, Policy, and International Security. Andrew McCabe, Distinguished Visiting Professor of Homeland Security Fengxiu Zhang, Assistant Professor of Public Management Last year’s NASPAA Emerging Scholar, Zhang studies public organization adaptation to extreme events, and will work with George Mason University’s Center for Resilient and Sustainable Communities.

Catherine (Katie) Bolzendahl has been named the new Director of the OSU School of Public Policy. Prior to stepping into this role, Dr. Bolzendahl was a Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Irvine, where she held the roles of Social Sciences Equity Advisor and Director of Graduate Studies. Her research reflects an enduring commitment to critical questions about political and gender inequality through international and interdisciplinary collaborations.
