English as a Second Language (ESL) Alliance for Lifelong Learning can help you improve your English speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills. To Register Step 1: Complete the ESL Information form - scan this QR code or go to oakton.edu/conted , click on Adult Education , then click on English as a Second Language Step 2: Complete the intake form and follow instructions for scheduling a test time. Step 3: Take the placement test. Step 4: Begin class (you will receive your schedule and class information after the test). Classes start the week of September 15. Registration is ongoing, based on class availability. Monday/Wednesday classes start: September 15, and end December 15, 2025 Tuesday/Thursday classes start: September 16, and end December 16, 2025 Oakton College is committed to equal access to educational opportunities for students with disabilities. Free ESL Classes * About the ESL Program • Teaches listening, speaking, reading, writing, and conversation skills. Introduces students to U.S. culture. • Designed for adults 16 years and older whose native language is not English and who are not enrolled in high school. • ESL classes are not intended for tourists and short-term visitors, but for those who live in the U.S.

Note: Per ICCB (Illinois Community College Board) regulations, au pairs are only eligible for our Supplemental ESL classes (tuition required) and cannot enroll in the free ESL classes (see Supplemental ESL Classes section).
