Q2 Legislative Scoop | AGC Advocacy Resources

• DFCM Deep Dive Task Force: The Legislature’s ongoing scru- tiny of state construction project costs continues through a task force working with the Department of Facilities and Construc- tion Management (DFCM). AGC has played a key role in shaping recommendations to ensure taxpayer savings while protecting contractor viability and efficiency. • Road and Highway Funding Prioritization: AGC participated in reporting to the Legislature on UDOT funding and procure- ment processes. With growth on the horizon, AGC is reinforc- ing the need for reliable funding and smart prioritization while continuing to support and collaborate with UDOT. • Elevator Inspection Reform: In collaboration with the Utah La- bor Commission, AGC successfully negotiated internal reforms that will: • Expand inspection availability to three days per week for new units • Set a target to complete inspections within five business days of request • Improve transparency by copying contractors on inspec- tion communication • Streamline inspections to ensure they are fully completed in one visit • A full summary of these changes will be available on the Advocacy Newsroom page of our website in mid-July. 3 State Project Oversight and Legislative Policy Focus

Following Representative Jefferson Moss’s departure to the Governor’s Office of Economic Develop- ment, the Utah House Republican Caucus selected a new Majority Leader, Majority Whip, and Assis- tant Whip. This leadership change brings in a younger generation of lawmakers and may foreshadow evolving legislative priorities. AGC will continue to foster relationships and advocate for policies that support construction’s role in Utah’s economic growth. House Leadership Shake-Up Signals Policy Shift 4
