Rationale
Adolescent youth in our community are faced with daily challenges such as declining graduation rates, failing schools, and economic challenges that prevent them from reaching their full potential. Toledo School for the Arts has the answer in providing a creative environment for learning where students who have a passion for the arts and an interest in academic success can be nurtured. Nearly 50% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch.
Who We Serve
TSA believes that artistically talented students fundamentally see the world of learning in a different way from their peers. TSA provides a tuition-free, world class education for young creatives from over 29 different school districts throughout Ohio. We are a safe haven for people who are different. Where else can they find a place to belong in this ever-changing world?
Need TSA is a Community public school and operates mainly on state funds, and receives sometimes 50% less than traditional public schools. The TSA Development Department exists to help close the gap in the yearly budget as well as to create opportunities for the organization to grow. With over 80 performances a year, the school has real costs in every one of these endeavors.
