1997-1998 Bengals Basketball Team

The 1997-1998 men's basketball team struggled through a disappointing season, finishing with a dozen losses ro exactly match their 12 wins. In SUNYAC conference games they finished wiLh a .500 record as well- 7 wins, ? losses. The final disappointment came when their season record left them in a four-way tie Western DivisionwithOswego, Geneseo, and Fredonia. Mter all statistical tie-breakers were applied they were still tied with Fredonia for the final playoff slot. The Bengals lost a coin flip and missed the playoffs for the first time in 19 years . Killroy Jackson and Mike Murphy led the team in scoring with 308 and 305 points respectively. Leshawn Oates was top rebounder with 137 grabs.
