1998 Lady Bengals Softball The 1998 Softball team had a solid season andwon 30 out of40 games on their way to the NCAA Regionals. The season began with four straight victories in Florida (and a 6-4 record for the trip), and continued with seven straight wins in eight days. In spite of being the lowest ranked team in the Cortaca Invitational, they beat three out of four opponents and won the tournament tide. In SUNYAC play the team won nearly all of their games and took first place in theWestern Division, but a pair oflosses to their Cortland hosts in the playoffs left them with second place in that tournament. Team stars included junior centerfielder Nicole Cefaratti (with a nation-leading .605 batting average), along with catcher Cheryl DiPasquale, shortstop Marcy Bochinski, and pitcher Kari Raymond, all seniors.
