SUMMER BRINGS CELEBRATION OF EO CULTURE

Location Events Planned

Going into the summer, the season when we traditionally focus on celebrating being 100% employee-owned and all the benefits and responsibilities that come with it, I want to let you know about some changes we’re making to how we continue to develop our employee- ownership culture and celebrate throughout the company. In the early days of becoming employee-owned, everyone was drinking from the proverbial firehose and the EO Committee was formed. This group of volunteer employees, from various locations and in various roles across the company, has helped us all learn more about employee- ownership and developed a fun and engaging employee ownership culture. As we navigate our next season of employee ownership and shift from getting started to sustaining and growing the culture, we will be narrowing the focus of this group. Moving forward, the EO Committee will be known as the EO Guides; it’s the same group of people, but with a different name and focus. The EO Guides will focus on helping resource and equip locations and location leaders in the development of a sustainable employee-ownership culture that impacts employee and customer experiences every day. Developing and sustaining a strong employee-ownership culture requires every individual, in every role and in every location, to make employee

ownership personal and part of our DNA as an organization. The EO Guides will help each location and its

leaders to have the tools, resources, and support necessary to embed employee-ownership culture into every location. We’re all indebted to those who have served on the committee before and those who serve as Guides now and in the future. In addition to the refreshment of the EO Guides’ name and focus, we’re going to refresh what we typically do each summer to celebrate employee ownership across the company. This year, we’re hosting a live, simulcast video event in nearly every location (a few facilities will be combined) around the end of June. During this event, the EO Guides and I will announce our updated stock price, we’ll distribute statements, and I’ll make brief remarks about the state of the company. Throughout the summer, each location will have an employee (plus guest) event to celebrate employee ownership where they’ll complete a location cornhole tournament. Each location’s EO Guide and some members of the executive team will attend, and the events will be designed to allow each location to celebrate employee ownership in their own style with the men and women they work alongside every day. At the end of the summer, we’ll have another company-wide live simulcast event where all the location cornhole champs work through a virtual bracket, and we’ll crown the cornhole champion. These activities are intended to help everyone be informed and educated about employee ownership, to celebrate our success and culture together, and to encourage us all to keep investing in our future together. As owners, we invest and reap the rewards of our investments and hard work as the company grows, performs better, and builds wealth for all our employee-owners. I’m excited about being on this journey with you and look forward to having some fun with you this summer.

HIGH FIVES!

EASY From: Al Garcia, Sawtooth Door To: Trevor Abrams, Twin Falls

Trevor was here at the shop waiting for Chad Beebe so they could load up doors and trim for an emergency delivery. He took it upon himself to start sweeping the shop while waiting. High-five for maintaining company culture!

WOW From: Justin Osterhout, Twin Falls To: Forrest Cox, Twin Falls

STRIVE From: Randy Forgy, Caldwell To: David Senner, Boise

I want to high-five Forrest Cox, one of our CDL drivers in Twin Falls. He consistently goes the extra mile to help our customers. A customer contacted his CSR to compliment Forrest’s awesome job on a recent delivery. Thank you, Forrest!

We had a semi-truck early morning delivery to Star. My driver broke down, and the moffett blocked the westbound lane, making Beacon Light a single-lane road. David stopped to help direct traffic. He could have simply driven past and gone about his day, but he saw a Franklin truck in trouble and an employee who could use help. To me, that is a Team Player and an Employee Owner. Thank you, David, for going above and beyond.

GUIDE From: Adam Hyer, Caldwell To: Anthony Matney and Kevin Curtis, Caldwell

I wanted to take a moment to give a well-deserved high-five to Anthony Matney and Kevin Curtis. I periodically test our yard crew by not wearing the proper PPE to see how far I can make it out the door before someone catches me. Anthony and Kevin are always on their A-Game. On a yard walk today, I got an email and pulled out my phone without thinking. Kevin saw me and called me out! I got caught up in the moment and put myself in a dangerous position. Actions like this make me proud to be a part of the Caldwell team because regardless of who it is, they are willing to speak up.

SAFE From: Eric Heiden, Burley To: Robert Smyer, Burley

While in the yard, I noticed a sheet of 3/4 OSB with a stack of 5/8’s. It was in the middle of the pile instead of on top, so I asked Robert to help me move them to get the 3/4 OSB where it belonged. He not only helped, but he also came up with a much better solution.

FRUITLAND DOOR SHOP HAS COME A LONG WAY A Peek at Our Pride and Joy

We are proud to pull back the curtain and reveal that our Fruitland, Idaho, Door Shop recently underwent a massive renovation and expansion project, along with welcoming aboard 24 year Franklin veteran, Ian Beane, as Fruitland Door Shop’s estimating manager. “The expansion of the door shop and the hiring of Ian Beane has turned our business around completely,” Jeff Thomas, the general manager, tells us. “Ian’s knowledge of doors and

production team. Juan also has 20 years of experience working in Boise and Fruitland’s door production.” Jeff explains that Juan is truly a magician when it comes to fixing old machines. “He has ‘saved our bacon’ several times, and Scott sets the team up for success every day by having the product ready when they get to work.” Everyone at the Fruitland Door Shop location operates like a well- oiled machine! They are willing to learn and grow without complaint, maintain flexibility when it’s time to welcome change, and when mistakes are made, they are quick to grow and learn from them. For Jeff, this team is exactly what he needs to welcome success and the best customer service possible. “The team has the right attitude, even down a couple of guys, to get the job done. Ian and the office have taken the

door shop cycle counts to a respectable level. It’s cool to stand back and look at the process, from Jeff Ward and myself brainstorming for hours just on the flow to the finished product we have now,” Jeff says. “Construction is a stressful business; it has many ups and downs. It gives me great pleasure to share our Fruitland Door Shop journey with you!”

production was a perfect fit for Fruitland. He has created a culture where our employees like what they do, and it shows in their product.” Jeff also raves about Fruitland Door Shop’s exceptional office staff. “Corey Garcia and Cherie Littleton are the two account coordinators, and Randy Boyce is our hardware specialist. Corey also brings over 20 years of door experience to the team. Juan Gutierrez, Tyler Stanzel, Rene Davila, and Brennon Brown comprise a well-oiled

FBS CARES ABOUT YOUR FINANCES! Our Q1 Saving Challenge Winners

At Franklin Building Supply, your personal finances matter just as much as ours do. Recently, all of our locations had the pleasure of hosting financial literacy coach Janice Purdy Pierce. The FBS Financial Ed program aims to provide employees with a better understanding of personal finance and how it impacts their lives. The sessions were a great success, and the benefits of financial literacy for our employees cannot be overstated. At an employee-owned company like ours, it’s important that everyone feels a sense of ownership and responsibility for the company’s financial performance. Personal financial literacy is essential to that sense of ownership, as it allows employees to better understand the company’s financial goals and objectives. Employees with a strong understanding of personal finance are better equipped to make informed decisions about their money. They are more likely to save for retirement, manage debt effectively, and invest in their own future. All of these actions contribute to a more well-rounded coworker. In addition, financial literacy can help employees feel more confident in their ability to make financial decisions, both inside and outside of work. This leads to improved performance and satisfaction and a stronger

sense of connection to the company and its mission. It’s clear that financial literacy coaching can have a positive impact on employees and their companies. At our employee-owned company, we’re proud to offer these resources to our workers, and we’re committed to helping them feel empowered and engaged in our financial performance. If you haven’t signed up to take one of the online classes this year, please contact your EO representative or email Janice directly at hello@achieve.finance, and she will direct your next steps. We are also hosting a quarterly Savings Challenge where you can win a Visa gift card for growing your savings account. There is still time to participate in the quarterly drawings! To learn the contest rules, look for the informational flyer in breakrooms across every location. When you win, we win! Q1 SAVINGS CHALLENGE WINNERS $500 - No entries $1,000 - No entries $1,500 - Sandra Carillo (Winner of $150 prize)

In the Spotlight

As author Ralph Marston once said, “Excellence is not a skill, it’s an attitude.” Here at Franklin Building Supply, we are so proud to say our team members share a common value — a positive attitude and dedication to putting the needs of our clients first. We have a genuinely kind team across all our locations who make it a joy to do our jobs. Every team member plays an integral part in ensuring our systems flow seamlessly. This month, we’d like to highlight Timothy Morrell, a DOT driver and yard personnel employee at our Jerome, Idaho, location. Timothy’s role includes loading the transfer trucks full of material, verifying that everything is accurate and safe, and delivering the requested material in a timely and efficient manner. Timothy has been with Franklin Building Supply for five years and has been such an asset to our team. He truly is a member of the Franklin family. “I enjoy working with my coworkers,” he tells us. “They all have great IN THE SPOTLIGHT With Timothy, Excellence Is Our Standard

attitudes, and as a team member, I feel our opinions are respected and any concerns are addressed. I always look forward to working with my coworkers and seeing what we can accomplish together.” Here at Franklin Building Supply, we rely heavily on LEAN, a series of five principles designed to improve workplace efficiency. For Timothy, this helps him keep things clean and organized to provide for the most efficient processes. When Timothy isn’t at work, he loves getting outdoors and exploring. You may catch him mountain biking on some back trails, camping, four-wheeling, or creating some pretty neat things while woodworking. Timothy, we love having you as part of our family — you play a key role in keeping our customers and other team members happy. Thanks for all you do!
