Do You Know the Clubhouse Rules of Attire?
As the summer season has officially begun at the Club, we’ve entered one of the busiest times here. When at the Club, members and guests are expected to adhere to the Rules of Attire as outlined in the Club Rules. We’re often asked what this means and with the Rules of Attire having recently been clarified/updated, we’d like to take this opportunity to remind you of some highlights relating to the Clubhouse rules of attire. As a general rule, you must always dress in a manner appropriate for a country club setting, and clothes must be clean, dry, and appropriately fitted. As a member, you are responsible for making sure that your family and guests follow the Rules of Attire as you enjoy the Club. If you see or experience an issue that requires attention, please inform our staff so they may address it appropriately, and if requested, please follow their instructions. Your failure, or the failure of your family or guests, to comply with the Rules of Attire will result in disciplinary action as outlined in the Organizational Manual. If you have a question about the Rules of Attire, please send an email to rulesofattire@ancc.org . A full copy of the Rules of Attire may be found on the Club’s website here or by scanning the QR code below:

CWGO: Career Women’s Golf Organization
The Career Women’s Golf Organization’s 2024 season is winding up, with weekday and weekend play ending at the end of October. We are excited to report the results of some of our recent events! Importantly, the CWGO held its Working Women’s Offsite – Fall Outing (the “WWOFO”) in October in beautiful Williamsburg, Virginia. After two days of fun group and individual play, the new WWOFO “Queen,” Liz Kretovic, was pronounced, taking over the reins from Tina Gwilliam. Thank you to Tina and her Court for organizing such a memorable and fun weekend for us all. Our new Queen Liz is responsible for organizing WWOFO 2025 and for encouraging general merriment amongst our ranks for the next year. Long live the Queen! The CWGO also recently held its MJ Major Tournament at Fairfax. Congrats to gross winner Tina Gwilliam and net winner Barbara Lancaster. We are also pleased to report that our CWGO Interclub team came in third place in its division. We thank our CWGO Interclub co-captains, Gwen House and Michelle Go-Lai for their leadership, and congratulate all of the CWGO Interclub members on a successful season! Our End-of-Year dinner is Wednesday, 6 November at Arlington. Please come celebrate a wonderful season of friendship and amazing golf. Registration link can be found by clicking here .
WNHGO: Women’s Nine Hole Golf Organization
The WNHGO Championship was played on 6 & 10 September with competition in two flights. Congratulations to the winner of the Championship Flight, Shannon Bibb. In the Stableford Flight, Georgia Cylke came in 1st, followed by Rita Kuntz and Susan Kelly (T-2); Penny Wood (4th); Nancy Pina (5th); and Becky Fulgham (6th). On 8 October, our members challenged Brad Myers in the Beat the Pro tournament in Fairfax. More than half of the field did indeed beat the pro. It helped that he was only allowed to use a 7-iron, a sand wedge, and a putter! Thanks to Brad for being a good sport! The last event of the season, the Fall Fest “Shamble” took place in Fairfax on 22 October. Congratulations to the winning team of Norah Moseley, Carole Colburn, Suzanne Campen, and Kathy Gonzalez. Ketty Farrell, Susan Kelly, and Ginger Murray came in second place. Thanks to Moira Flanders and Susan Ervin for planning the event. The Fall Luncheon is 12 November in ARL, at 11:30 AM. Click here to register. Contact Mary Helmantoler, Penny Wood, or Jo Ellen Fowler with questions. Winter Golf starts on 1 November. Sign-up sheets are posted in the Fairfax & Arlington locker rooms. The cost is $10, and you must play a minimum of 10 rounds before 31 March at ANCC courses with at least one other person. For more information, contact Mary Fields.
