WNHGO: Women’s Nine Hole Golf Organization
The WNHGO Championship was played on 6 & 10 September with competition in two flights. Congratulations to the winner of the Championship Flight, Shannon Bibb. In the Stableford Flight, Georgia Cylke came in 1st, followed by Rita Kuntz and Susan Kelly (T-2); Penny Wood (4th); Nancy Pina (5th); and Becky Fulgham (6th). On 8 October, our members challenged Brad Myers in the Beat the Pro tournament in Fairfax. More than half of the field did indeed beat the pro. It helped that he was only allowed to use a 7-iron, a sand wedge, and a putter! Thanks to Brad for being a good sport! The last event of the season, the Fall Fest “Shamble” took place in Fairfax on 22 October. Congratulations to the winning team of Norah Moseley, Carole Colburn, Suzanne Campen, and Kathy Gonzalez. Ketty Farrell, Susan Kelly, and Ginger Murray came in second place. Thanks to Moira Flanders and Susan Ervin for planning the event. The Fall Luncheon is 12 November in ARL, at 11:30 AM.
