This accounts for the followers of Spiritualism, Christian Science, etc. He snatches away the good seed of God (Luke 8:12). He is the author of sin (Gen. 3:1-6). He has power over men's bodies Acts 10:38; Luke 13:16). He has power over death (Heb. 2:14). He tempts men to sin (Matt. 4:1-9). He lays snares for men (1 Tim. 3:7; 2 Tim. 2:26). We have victory over him now, through Christ (1 Jno. 3:8). We must be armed (Eph. 6:11); re- sist (Jas. 4:7); give him no place (Epb. 4:27; 1 Pet. 5:8); the blood the over- coming power (Rev. 12:10-11). His doom is sealed (Matt. 25:41; Heb. 2:14). It would be im- possible to have a more attentive and thoughtful audience than was present that night. Mr. Hanay has endeared himself to the people by his consistent, faithful life, and by his fearless preach- ing. He gives no uncertain sound. He declares that men are lost and doomed to eternal punishment and that their only hope lies in the personal accepta- tion of Christ as Saviour and Lord. There have been conversions there and there will be more. During the week a part of the build- ing will be used as a reading room and headquarters for the Aqueduct men. It will be the only place outside of the saloons where a man can wait for a train or find refuge from the elements. We rejoice in this good work and be- speak for the Sky Pilot and his work your earnest prayers.

The Devil (Jno. 13:2), Satan (Acts 5:3), Wicked One (Matt. 13:19, 39). Past Province. In some mysterious way he is asso- ciated with the world; was probably its former ruler. He lost his position through sin of pride (1 Tim. 3:6), at which time the scepter passed out of Adam's hand into Satan's and he be- came the Prince of this world (Jno. 14:30), His Present Position. Above that of the angels (Jude 8:9). Prince of this world (Jno. 12:31, 16: 11). Prince of the power of the air (Eph. 2*2). God of this age (2 Cor. 4:4). Ruler of a kingdom (Luke 11:14-18). His Power. He controls the hearts of men (Acts THE SKY PILOT'S CHURCH. Mojave had sixteen saloons a year ago and now it has eight. There has been no political upheaval, no reform movement, but there has been some good, earnest preaching and living on the part of our representative, Thos. Hanay, Jr., whom the Aqueduct men dub the " S ky Pilot." There has never been an evangelical church building in Mojave. They have murders galore. Sunday, March 13, marked an epoch in the little town. A snug little build- ing that will seat about 150 people was dedicated that night by prayer and set apart for the preaching of the Gospel. The Superintendent of the Institute had the privilege of preaching the first ser- mon and his theme was " The Finished Work of Jesus Christ."
