The Most Authentic Italian Experience in the Heart of Little Italy A NEW GENERATION OF ITALIAN CUISINE – fresh, light, and authentic. By using proper cooking techniques, Civico 1845’s flavors are natural and pure. The menu is an homage to the owner’s southern Italian roots and reflects what’s being served in Italy today. Civico 1845 believes in sustainability, both in their food and in the design of the restaurant. While the menu focuses on locally grown and seasonal ingredients, their bar and dining areas were created using reclaimed, natural materials. Nothing goes to waste at Civico 1845.

Dario Gallo FOUNDER, OPERATING PARTNER

BORN AND RAISED IN COSENZA, ITALY, Dario Gallo moved to the city of Milan at age 18 to study economics and management at the University of Milano–Bicocca. The cosmopolitan city inspired Dario to fall in love with design and modern Italian cuisine. After visiting San Diego for the first time in September 2013, Gallo and his brother, Pietro (chef and co-owner) knew they would be back. With a vision of Civico 1845, the move was made later that year to the heart of Little Italy. Dario’s goal is to bring the most authentic and contemporary Italian experience—food, service, wine, and cocktails — to San Diego.
