Brief Description : Congratulations! By choosing the cosmetology career path you will learn to provide services for hair, skin and nails as well as consumer health and safety, infection control and customer relations. Training to become a hairstylist, nail technician and an esthetician are all included in this 1600 hour program that is aligned with the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. Participating in this program is a huge time commitment on the part of the student. It is the vision of the ROC School of Cosmetology that all students who enter leave with education and skills to earn a better living and live a better life.
SENIORS ONLY
: Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the State Cosmetology Board Licensing Exam (fee required). Additional Information : Students will also be required to attend the program during the seven week summer session from 7:00-3:30 daily. Students should be able to complete the required hours in approximately 14 months. Additional students will be enrolled as spots open up at the beginning of the second semester (January), and the beginning of the summer session (June). Students will need to provide their own transportation to and from ROC during the summer session. Students will need to take any additional courses required to graduate high school through the Kern Learn program (online program located at ROC).
Course : Approximately 14 months Fall and Spring Semesters: 7:30 AM - 2:45 PM (Break 10:30 AM - 11:45 AM) Summer (7 weeks): 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (30 minute break) Transportation not provided by the KHSD during the Summer session. Location : ROC Dress Code : Industry appropriate attire (closed toe shoes, pants, & apron) High School Credits Available : 20 elective credits per semester
