HONESTA
The Honesta tableware is an ode to natural, red-baking clay. The special thing about this type of clay is that it contains a significant amount of grog, baked clay that has been finely ground and which gives its typical coarse texture On the inside, all objects are finished with glaze, for hygienic reasons. On some items, you can still see the remnants of the turning
process, the so-called ‘scraps’. The artisanal designer, Alex Gabriëls, who pays much attention to curves and proportions in her work, likes to add an extra twist to simple basic forms. “That could be a handle or a rim that takes on a different shape when turning.”

The choice of material for the Collage teacups design fell on solid acacia wood. The insulating properties of this wood ensure that the filled cup never gets too hot to hold. The slightly greyed wood is finished with a matt, waterproof,

With a distinct preference for simple shapes with rough concrete aspects, the quirky French designer Frédérick Gautier pays a tribute to architecture with his ‘Urbanistic Ceramics’. The ‘micro-architecture’ of the plates, cups and teapots by Frédérick Gautier for Serax resonates to the echo
of masters such as Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and Oscar Niemeyer. In a modernist perspective, the objects represent a kind of brutalism that emphasises the texture and imperfection of the material, rendering any form of embellishment redundant.

ISABELLE DE BORCHGRAVE
BLUE IS THE NEW BLACK
For her Blue is the New Black tableware collection, the Brussels-based designer Isabelle de Borchgrave made moulds out of papier-mâché to ensure the uneven texture would be transferred to the porcelain plates, bowls, serving dishes, cups, and serving spoons. Aquamarine blue and black
patterns are painted onto the white surfaces like a kind of calligraphy. Thus, Isabelle’s Blue is the New Black tableware collection is reminiscent of the prestigious nineteenth- century Tournai porcelain.

Fish&Fish - With Fish&Fish, her tableware collection for Serax, the Italian designer Paola Navone draws admiring glances at once. Fish & Fish was inspired by the tastes and colours of her many travels and is based on the products made during the Great Depression in the 1930s. Accessible, solid and meticulously studied, this service collection will find its way to all possible tables. The platters, jars and bottles are made of pressed glass and available in Jadeite (green), Milk Glass (white) and Depression Glass (transparent).
Table Nomade - Paola Navone: “I have nomadic blood running through my veins, travelling is my second nature. With the curiosity of an anthropologist, I will go in search of everyday objects from different cultures and traditions. White, black, red, and indigo blue dominate the colour palette of the Table nomade collection for Serax. A collection of souvenirs, all of them telling their own story about their particular corner of the world.”

"Although I am a fan of white tableware, I wanted to add a touch of sweetness to Désirée in the form of a warm pink hue," explains top pastry chef Roger Van Damme. "The golden edge has to accentuate that luxurious sense of patisserie, without becoming kitsch." Désirée fits in with Van Damme’s
big project for 2020: the opening of his new business of the same name, with which he lets a modern wind blow through Antwerp's icon, Désirée de Lille. "I didn't rely on existing tableware or styles but did my own thing completely, a fantastic experience."
