MASHOPOLIS (WORKING TITLE)
What if there was a show that leveraged the mass appeal of video games, along with everything that’s GOOD about them? In the fall of 2021, TPT began development of a second national RTL children’s program. The series focuses on helping children ages 5-8 develop critical executive functioning skills that lay the groundwork for future success in school and the workplace. The project includes 80 11-minute animated television episodes in English and Spanish, a portfolio of interactive games and apps, and a website where children can explore visions of their future selves. Both Hero Elementary and Mashopolis (wt) are explicitly grounded in an equity framework. TPT’s Diverse Writers Workshop recruits and develops aspiring script writers, and the Mashopolis Equity Council developed Equity Principles for Media Production. TPT’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is integrated throughout all project components, and reflected in feedback from educators, parents, and children.
