Cedar Plan Salmon with Salmon Spice & Maple Syrup by Steelhead Food Co & Fishy McGee An easy-to-do cedar plank salmon recipe for your grill that the whole family will love! It has a light smokiness to the fish, and the scent of cedar is heavenly. Serves 2 Ingredients 2 Salmon fillet portions 2 tbsp Olive Oil 2 Cloves of garlic, finely minced or grated 1 Lemon wedge to squeeze on the fish 1 Cedar Plank Hot Mama’s Salmon Spice Rub or your fish rub of choice Maple Syrup to drizzle on Directions 1. Pre-soak your plank board in salt water for a minimum of 2 hours or for better results, overnight. 2. Make a spice rub with a little olive oil, fresh garlic and salmon spice rub. Coat fish well. 3. Heat your grill to approximately 450°. Place your soaked cedar plank on the grill with the BBQ lid closed for approximately 5 minutes or until it has a very light char. 4. Flip the board over, place the fish on the charred side of the plank, and cook for approximately 12-15 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°. 5. In the last 4-5 minutes of cooking, add some fresh local maple syrup to the fillets to caramelize them a little. Perfect for the Grill!
Serve with a generous squeeze of lemon and an extra drizzle of maple syrup on the plate.
