Learning objectives:
64) Discuss safe selection, inspection and use of PPE for HV working (Knowledge, intermediate level)
65) Recognise common mistakes and limitations in the use of PPE, personal clothing, jewellery, as well as HV tools and materials (Knowledge, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Introduce, explain and demonstrate correct use PPE for High Voltage Work including the range of typical PPE
a.
markings and levels of protection offered
b. when and why each PPE is required based on risk assessment and local requirements
c.
how to properly use typical items of PPE
d.
how to effectively maintain your PPE
The participants shall:
Engage in a hands-on exercise in the use of HV-specific PPE, including recognising PPE that is fit for purpose or unfit for purpose for different HV work tasks

The aim of this lesson is to familiarise participants with the fundamentals and principles for operating HV systems under a SSOW, and to provide opportunities for them to practice and implement them in realistic exercises.
After having successfully completed this lesson, the participants can:
