The participants shall:
Observe, discuss and ask questions about applying the Five Safety Rules or local equivalent to operate safely in HV environments
Practice applying rules to operate safely in HV environments based on:
a.
Five Safety Rules - EN50110-1
b.
The Golden Five - NFPA 70E
c.
or any local equivalent
Work together as a class under direction of the instructor to prepare the steps of a simple Switching Schedule or Switching Sequence applying the principles of the five safety rules
ELEMENT 10.3 - DOCUMENTATION TO ENSURE SAFE CONTROL OF HV OPERATIONS
Learning objectives:
73) Apply a safe system of work to effectively control work and mitigate risks (Skills, intermediate level)
74) Distinguish the equipment type and functions from HV circuit layouts, diagrams, and schematics (Skills, intermediate level)
75) Distinguish and use safety documents such as permits to work, isolation certificates, and Sanctions for Test (Skills, intermediate level)
76) Explain methods for controlling access to HV restricted areas, such as high voltage substations or switching rooms (Knowledge, intermediate level)
77) Discuss additional hazards, including earthing and operational boundaries (Knowledge, intermediate level)
78) Take responsibility for verification of repair and completion (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Introduce the participants to the SSOW and documentation they will use during practical exercises and familiarise them with each type.
Demonstrate switching document, types and use of:
