Demonstrate practical application of switching communications, coordination and the hierarchy of switching control during remote switching operations.

The participants shall:

Engage in asking and answering questions and sharing understanding of applying switching communications, coordination and the hierarchy of switching control during remote switching operations.

ELEMENT 11.4 - CARRY OUT ACTIONS WITHIN A HV SAFETY DOCUMENT OR SWITCHING ORDERS

Learning objectives:

99) Explain terminology and definitions within HV safety documents (Knowledge, intermediate level)

100) Perform actions under SAP-issued switching orders, or under instruction when facing unplanned conditions in a simulated setting (Skills, intermediate level)

101) Distinguish roles and responsibilities associated with safety documents (Skills, intermediate level)

102) Perform proper communication, sequences and protocols for HV work (Skills, intermediate level)

The instructor shall:

Facilitate a practical walk through of example switching orders in role play training scenarios emphasising the:

a.

integral importance for safe switching

b.

roles and responsibilities

Demonstrate communications and sequences

a. permission to switch, apply circuit main earth (as per ENA Safety Rules or equivalent)

The participants shall:

Engage in asking and answering questions and sharing understanding of carrying out actions within a HV safety document or switching orders.
