Operations training
High Voltage Standard / V1 02072025
b. the importance of verifying test equipment functionality before and after use
Conduct a demonstration of the PTP method using a calibrated HV Voltage Detector:
a.
emphasising the procedural steps.
b.
highlight potential errors and risks such as:
b.i using unverified test instruments
b.ii failing to check all phases
b.iii misinterpreting test results.
Lead participants in a scenario-based fault simulation to test participants’ ability to correctly apply the method. Introduce realistic fault conditions such as:
a.
residual charge
b.
induced voltage
c.
incorrect earthing
The participants shall:
Work in small groups to apply the principles behind the 'Prove-Test-Prove' method to verify absence of voltage using a calibrated HV Voltage Detector.
APPLYING HV ISOLATIONS AND EARTH
240 min.
The aim of this lesson is to familiarise participants with the tools, equipment and methods for applying HV isolations and earth and to provide opportunities for them to practice using these safely in realistic exercise scenarios.
After having successfully completed this lesson, the participants can:
113) Perform HV isolations and earth safely using established procedures, and appropriate tools and PPE (Skills, intermediate level)
