Operations training
High Voltage Standard / V1 02072025
b.
relays injection testing, CT / VT, SF6
c.
transformer insulation testing
d.
partial discharge (PD) testing
The participants shall:
Observe, discuss and ask questions about testing activities and related tools and devices
Ask questions about installed instrumentation and portable equipment, testing tools, and fault detection features.
This lesson should provide only an awareness level of knowledge about specific high voltage test activities. Instructors should not place excessive emphasis on specific HV testing or in-depth standards for testing or technical details. The focus of the lesson should be on the safe control of the HV systems when operating under a Sanction for Test during testing activities and as such, most time from this lesson should be utilised for practical exercises as part of the switching operations scenarios.
Note
ELEMENT 14.3 - SAFE CONTROL OF HV EQUIPMENT DURING TESTING ACTIVITY
Learning objectives:
129) Perform steps as designated for safe control of HV equipment during testing activity (Skills, intermediate level)
130) Act independently to maintain situational awareness during testing activity, recognising and responding to signs and indicators of abnormal HV system conditions (Ability, intermediate level)
131) Perform appropriate actions to maintain safety upon indications that operations did not proceed as normally expected (Skills, intermediate level)
132) Apply manufacturer guidelines for safe control during testing (Skills, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Demonstrate how to establish and maintain safe control of HV equipment during testing activity:
