The aim of this lesson is to provide participants with the skills to conduct a high-quality inspection of the HV cable length, and to recognise and report problem or issues.
After having successfully completed this lesson, the participants can:
24) Perform proper cable inspection, identifying damage and taking appropriate action (Skills, intermediate level)

26) Distinguish typical types of damage and possible consequences (Skills, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Demonstrate HV cable inspection including an explanation of how to evaluate the cable for damage before and during pulling operation.
Illustrate HV cable with and without damage using several samples including:
a.
punctures
b.
scratches
c.
soiling
d.
maximum bending radius exceeded
Illustrate and demonstrate how to evaluate damage or puncture holes in outer core.
Guide the participants through a practical exercise inspecting sample HV cable sections for damage
a. encourage participants to reach independent conclusions before sharing determinations for feedback and reflection
