Annex 4 of this standard contains a guideline to support facilitating an effective and engaging physical activity warm-up routine for wind technicians.
Note
Depending on the training environment and the practical exercises planned for each lesson, training providers are encouraged to utilise this guidance to facilitate stretching and warming up before physical work begins.
This guidance can be used to engage participants to reflect on their own daily working routines and practices they apply good ergonomic practices and avoid injury.

PREPARATION OF HV CABLE, EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS

The aim of this lesson is to give participants an opportunity to practice preparation of HV cable, equipment and tools.
After having successfully completed this lesson, the participants can:
36) Perform preparations of HV cable and tools in readiness for safe and effective cable pulling operation (Skills, intermediate level)
ELEMENT 6.1 - PREPARATION AND PROTECTION OF HV CABLE
Learning objectives:
37) Recognise proper storage and handling of HV cables to prevent damage (Knowledge, basic level)
38) Apply mechanical protection for cable during pulling using rollers, ground covering mats or carpets (Skills, intermediate level)
39) Apply suitable protection to the break-out in readiness for cable pulling (Rocket, etc.) (Skills, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Brief participants on different types of HV cables and their specific handling requirements.
