The Municipality offers other recreation and exercise programs, such as pickleball, cornhole, duplicate bridge, and Euchre, among a variety of other sports and exercise groups. Nicky Bolton, Recreation Program Coordinator, advises, “Eu - chre and pickleball are very popular and fill up quickly. Duplicate Bridge is always looking for more teams to come play, cornhole and floor curling always love having new players out, and the games are easy to learn.” Besides keeping their bodies and minds active, it’s clear that these programs provide a critical social component that keeps people coming back.
“It’s great to get out and spend time with friends,” says Pat when asked what she likes about pickleball. Connie, another pickleball player, adds, “It gives us an opportunity to exercise our bodies and our minds.” “Cornhole is a lot of fun. It’s a nice group of people, and it’s great to get together once a week,” says Carol, a regular attendee. The card programs offer similar benefits for socializing and keep - ing the mind active. “Bridge is a great way to meet people and enjoy their company,” says duplicate bridge player, Antonia. “It’s a wonderful activity for a senior to spend an afternoon doing.” According to Nicky, the Municipality loves getting feedback on their current roster of programs, and they are always looking for new ideas.
