Hyde Park & District Lions Awards Presentation by Pamela Hardbottle The Hyde Park & District Lions recently showed their appreciation to members and others in the community with awards presentations. Lion Roy Phillips was presented with the Lions Life Membership. Lion Rob Harbottle was presented with the International Leadership Award. Lion Sydney Maclean was presented the Judge Stevenson Award. Donna Szpakowski from the Hyde Park Business Improvement Association was presented with a Melvin Jones Award for our amazing community partnership. Bob Schram from Sterling Marking Products was presented an award of appreciation for Sterling’s continued support of the efforts of the Hyde Park Lions and Leos, including their collaboration with the Hyde Park Santa Claus parade. The Judge Brian Stevenson Award was presented to Lion Craig Herbert. The Melvin Jones Award was presented to President Larry McLeish. Matthew Koopman also received a Melvin Jones Award for collaboration with Gateway Church. The Appreciation Award was presented to the Hyde Park Business Improvement Association for collaboration with the Santa Claus Parade. The Lions Foundation of Canada Award in honour of Lion John Van Dyk was presented to his wife Mary VanDyk and her son Paul. The Lions Camp Dorset award recipients will have their name engraved on a decorative brick and mounted in the main entrance on the donor wall. The recipients were Lions Larry McLeish, Rob Harbottle, Eric Dolansky and Sydney MacLean, all past presidents.

Honourary Lions Guardian of Camp Huronda Awards were presented to Lions Terry Rayner, Terri Gomes, Anne Bertrand, Vicky Heredia and Marilyn Callum for their dedication to making a difference in the lives of children with Type 1 Diabetes. Presented by Lion Richard.
