Hyde Park Oakridge Villager June 2024

Ward 8 Update from City Hall by Steve Lehman, Ward 8 London City Councillor, slehman@london.

It was my honour to speak on behalf of city council at this year’s Oakridge Optimists Youth Volunteer Awards night. This year, 16 amazing young people from the area were recognized for the tremendous work they do giving back to the community. The award winners had a cash award directed to their charity of choice. Each provided a presentation of who they were, what they did as a volunteer and why they chose their charity to be recipient of the cash award. As an Oakridge Optimist and a city councillor, I was humbled by the eloquence, vision and passion shown by all these young people when they spoke. The future is in good hands as I see this next generation move into adulthood.
