An Update on Iris In 2019 and 2021, we reported on Iris Fletcher, who grew up in Old South London and attended Wortley Road Public School. Her journey started in 2019 in Texas on an NCAA Division 1 Beach Volleyball scholarship where she and her partner earned Southland Conference 2nd Team All-Star honours.

I could not be prouder of her and what she has done this season.” UNF recently won the ASUN Conference Championships in Deland, Florida, going undefeated throughout the tournament. Iris, along with partner Katie Camp, were named to the ASUN 1st Team All-Tournament Team and most notably, Pair of the Tournament. Iris received the honours after putting forth a 17–3 mark on the sand and achieving a 4.0 GPA in graduate school, majoring in Special Education. She surpassed 50-career wins this season and picked up ranked wins over No. 3 Florida State, No. 6 Loyola Marymount, and twice over No. 15 Florida Atlantic and conference rival, No. 18 Stetson. Iris will be headed back to London for the summer to share her experience and knowledge with youth training with Beach Volleyball Academy. She hopes to inspire her athletes to develop good habits and thoughtful processing of the beach game. Have a great summer Iris!
