5 day tour Delights of Valkenburg, Aachen & the Rhine Valley
An optional River Rhine lunch cruise will be available during the day - cruise through the Rhine Gorge, famous for its ancient castles, picturesque village, and vine-clad slopes; and enjoy lunch aboard. Later travel to Cochem, the ‘Pearl of the Moselle’; a picturesque town with narrow cobbled streets and twisting alleys and restored half-timbered houses with slat roofs, overlooked by the magnificent Reichsburg Castle. Day 4: Drielandenpunt and Aachen Join the included excursion as you travel to Drielandenpunt (Three Country Point) near the town of Vaals; where the borders of Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands all meet. A short amount of time here lets you take photos and explore before continuing into Germany to the nearby city of Aachen - famous for its magnificent cathedral and the Elisebrunnen fountain; which is also the symbol of the city. There’ll be free time here to explore before returning to the hotel in time for your evening meal. Day 5: Depart from Aachen to the UK Your time with us has come to an end, seat yourself back on the coach and enjoy the scenery back to the UK.

Day 1: Depart from the UK to Valkenburg Door-to-Door departure, then to Valkenburg where you’ll stay four nights. Day 2: Valkenburg A day at leisure to relax and explore Valkenburg’s quaint cobbled streets and pretty streets. Situated at the crossroads of three countries; Valkenburg has been a long favourite destination on account of its exuberance and extremely varied appeal. Locally known as ‘the Marlstone Town’, it’s famous for its castle and elaborate system of Roman caves and tunnels which run beneath the town. Explore the quaint cobbled streets and beautiful buildings of this enchanting, fortified town, or alternatively relax with a glass of local white beer. Day 3: Rhine and Moselle Valleys Today’s included excursion takes you to the majestic Rhine Valley. Famous for its picture postcard villages, fairy tale castles, and vineyards; no wonder the area is considered by so many to offer the most picturesque scenery in Germany. Visit the quaint Rhineland town of Boppard, which was once a Roman fort. Enjoy time at leisure in this pretty town to explore or amble along the promenade.
